Good afternoon Ladies & Gentlemen, and welcome back to another Gig Harbor Sportsmans Club Sunday Afternoon Clays Match. Today is October 31, Halloween, and while we didn't see any Ghosts or Goblins, some of the Clay Targets certainly seemed to move in the "breezes", which weren't blowing. Not much wind in our safe, partially enclosed and fully covered, pistol range. Still, in the event, the targets appeared to bob & weave as they flowed with the "winds of change" in keeping with the day.
Many thanks go to our Match Staff for putting on another great match. THANKS To our Match Director, Chuck Nicodemus, for putting this match all together, and delivering it to the shooters in a neat, efficient package. Thanks as well to today's Scorekeeper & DJ, Jon Lagerquist for keeping track of who did what today, and having the results posted immediately upon completion of the event. And thanks to our Arrays Impresario, Chuck Treat, for bringing us Page 5 of The Great Equalizer Series. Let's take a look at the arrays, from the shooter's viewpoint.
Round 1
Two straight lines of Clays, 4 Green Standards on the top row, and 4 orange micros on the bottom row. If entered in the The Limited Class, the Green Standards are your targets. If entered in the Open Class, your attention is directed to the orange micros. If successful in breaking all of your primaries, you then move to the center of the screen and engage The Black Micro In The Middle.
Round 2
Now, the 1st orange micro and the 1st Green Standard on the outsides of the arrays have changed places. The introduction of strategy takes place, and the real fun starts. No matter, If successful in breaking your primaries, engage the black micro in the middle, and prepare for Round 3.
Round 3
Now the top row starts with 2 orange micros, morphs to 2 Green Standards, and the opposite is presented on the bottom row. IF successful in breaking your primaries, go to the center of the screen and engage the black micro in the middle.
Round 4
The transition is almost complete, and we now have 3 orange micros on top, followed by 1 Green Standard on the top row. On the bottom row, 3 Green Standards precede 1 orange micro. If successful in breaking your primaries, The Black Micro In The Middle awaits. And now we proceed to Round 5
Round 5
The transition is now complete. On the top row we now have 4 Orange Micros. On the bottom row we have 4 Green Standards. If you have broken all of your primaries, and been successful in engaging the black micro in the middle, it's time to sit back and wait for the results..
Match Results
We had two Ladies competing today, and Giti Anable emerged with the higher score of 29.

OK Folks, that's it for today. We know what we must do to prepare for next week. Next time there probably won't be any ghosts or goblins haunting the arrays, and all of the shooters will be flat out of excuses :( Practice hard and properly and we'll see you right here next week. Don't forget the plate match here at GHSC tomorrow evening, Monday November 1, 2010 at 6PM sharp!! We hope to see everyone here next Sunday at 4PM for another Clays Match. In the meantime always remember:
"THE CONTEST DOES NOT ALWAYS GO TO THE SWIFTEST, BUT ASSUMING EXCELLENT ACCURACY, THAT IS THE WAY TO BET!!"
Hal
