July 14,2009 Plate Match Report

28 Guns Entered    Match Won by Scott Scheitzach

     Junior Class - 2 - won by Kiel Marvik

     Young Bucks & Does Class - 17 - won by Rob Potter

     Senior Class - 5 - won by Rebecca Potter

     Super Senior Class - 4 - won by George Flaherty

 

     Good evening folks.  In Hal's absence, George Flaherty will be the reporter for tonight's match.  Thanks to O.J., with help from Matchew, for setting up the stage.  Rob and Reba ran an efficient match and we were able to shoot 5 rounds, with a sudden death finale, even with 28 shooters. We had one round of mandatory reloads, and a first time ever round where it was required to drop the center plate before engaging the others.  This new twist resulted in several losses by shooters who moved on to the other 4 plates before dropping the required center plate first.

     We pick up the action with 6 shooters still alive:  Kiel, Rebecca,OJ, Rob, Scott, and George.  Kiel beats Rebecca who retires as our Senior Class winner.  Several duels later Scott downs Kiel who retires as our Junior Class winner.  The next shooter to retire is O.J. as George ends his night.  Scott is hot tonight as he beats Rob and George.  Then, Rob and George are both down to one number, while Scott has more numbers on the board than one can count.  Scott begins to clean the slate as he beats George again.  Exit our Super Senior Class winner.  Scott then puts the finishing touches on the night by eliminating Rob, our Young Bucks and Does Class winner. 

     As is usually the case, it was a nice night for a plate match.  Come on out next week and give it a try.  Don't forget the plate practice each and every Monday evening at 5pm.  Get a running start on the plate match the following evening. See you then.
