Hello sports fans, and welcome to the Gig Harbor Sportsman's Club and our weekly clays match.  It's a beautiful, warm 70degree day today, sunny and a true Western Washington summer day.  Our "Arrays Impressario", Chuck Treat, thought he would mix up the order of the target series today by presenting "Series I".  We had series G last week, so I guess we'll have "Series H" next week.  Actually, Chuck just wanted to use up some of the standard black targets to make some room in the conex storage box, so we're shooting "Series I" today.  As you will soon see, again, "series I" starts out with a lot of standard sized clays both in black and green.  Don't live in hope however, after the 3rd round you won't see any more standards, only micros.
Many thanks to Doug McLean for running the match today, and welcome to all the new clays shooters in attendance.  We hope you had a good time, felt sufficiently challenged, and will return just as many Sunday afternoons at 4pm as possible.  We missed Chuck Nicodemus this week.  Chuck hasn't been feeling up to par lately, and we wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him here next week.    And now, on to the match..............

At the end of regulation play we have a couple of winners.  In the Open Class, Chuck Treat wins with a match-leading score of 48.  Close to perfect Chuck.  Very Close.  In the Limited Class, Rob Potter leads the field, TWICE!!  It seems we had 13 shooters enter originally today, but due to the format of the match, we need an even number.  Rob "Volunteered" to enter twice, thus rounding out the field with the even number of entries.  At the end of the match, the limited guns had 2 entries with a tie score of 38 - Both being ROB POTTER.  You still only get one winners medallion Rob, but Nice Shooting, both Chuck and Rob.
Looking ahead to "Series H" next week, it looks like a real Precision match.  2 standard targets out of 5 (plus the objective black micro in the middle, of course) for round 1,  2 out of 5 in round 2, and after that it's micros for the rest of the match.  Bring sharp eyes and steady hands, shooters, and we'll see you all right here next Sunday at 4pm.  In the meantime, remember Gig Harbor Sportsman's Club's mantra:

"Shoot Fast, Shoot Accurately, but most importantly, Shoot Safely!!"

Hal
